The Danish actor will play Hannibal Lecter in Bryan Fuller's upcoming show.
Director David Slade was announced earlier this week to be dropping out of 20th Century Fox's Daredevil reboot to concentrate on Hannibal.
Thor 2 is scheduled to begin shooting in August.
