Edgar Wright's third and final instalment in his so-called 'Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy' has been given the official go-ahead.
Simon Pegg - who co-wrote the script - will once again star alongside Nick Frost.
The film centres around an old group of friends who attempt a pub crawl to the legendary World's End against the backdrop of impending Armageddon.
Pegg has promised a darker tone to the film than 2004 zombie apocalypse movie Shaun of the Dead, the first in the trilogy.
The movie is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin shooting in October.
The second instalment in the loose comedy trilogy was 2007's Hot Fuzz.
