The actor, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire franchise, confessed that changes in his natural haircut required him to have a hairpiece fitted for several key scenes in the final instalment.
"We had to do the re-shoots on [Breaking Dawn - Part 2] a few weeks ago, and it was the first time I had to wear a wig," Pattinson told a fan at a San Diego Comic-Con panel for the film last week.
"I couldn't believe my last two days on Twilight they put this orange wig on my hair. [It was] like Frankenstein's monster [and] an amalgamation of six [different] wigs."
Pattinson went on to jokingly offer advice to his former self, adding: "Don't succumb to peer pressure and start wearing a wig like everybody else in this cast."
The star recently revealed that playing a father in the final film was a "strange" experience as he is used to portraying teenagers.
