The promotional artwork, which was released through The Huffington Post, shows a half-full bottle with liquid creeping up over the film's title.
The Master centres on Joaquin Phoenix's former navy man Freddie as he is drawn into a faith-based organisation by Philip Seymour Hoffman's Lancaster Dodd. Amy Adams plays Mary Sue Dodd, the wife of Hoffman's eponymous Master.
Hoffman's character is reportedly based on controversial Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard.
Anderson, who directed Church of Scientology member Tom Cruise in Magnolia, is said to have screened a cut of the movie to the actor. Cruise allegedly "had issues" with the content of the drama.
The Master will open in US cinemas on October 12 and November 9 in the UK.
