Jurassic Park 4 is expected to hit screens in the next two years, according to producer Frank Marshall.

Marshall, who has worked alongside Steven Spielberg for the past three decades as part of Amblin Entertainment, offered an update on the long-awaited project, which Spielberg announced at Comic-Con in 2011.

"I would say that it will be on the screen within two years," Marshall told Collider.

Spielberg previously stated that he looks forward to seeing what improvement in special effects and CGI can bring to the film.

"That's what's gonna be great about it, technology's taken a leap now that we can really do some great things," the director said.

In June, Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver were hired to write a script for the movie. Mark Protosevich, William Monahan and John Sayles have all previously worked on scripts for the sequel.

Spielberg is expected to produce the project, but will not direct it.
