Sanders helmed the first film released in June with Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth in the cast.

However, Sanders and Stewart recently made headlines when it emerged that the pair had a fling, despite Sanders being married with two children and Stewart in a high-profile relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.
Universal has revealed that Sanders is still attached to direct the follow-up for now, but according to The Hollywood Reporter his original deal crucially did not mention the prospect of a sequel, while Stewart's contract did.
Other notable Universal films potentially returning for another instalment are Ted and American Reunion, while Battleship is not believed to be getting a sequel.
