'Casino Royale' downloads top 200,000
The number of illegal downloads of new James Bond film Casino Royale has topped 200,000.

An internet monitoring company believes two versions of the film, released last week, have been made available online. A copy apparently filmed from the audience in a cinema in Russia was released last Friday while a higher quality version, thought to be from Italy, arose on Monday.

The company, Envisional, said fans from all walks of life were now downloading movies, and such a blockbuster is worst hit.

"In the face of this international conspiracy, Bond is really up against it," said Dr David Price, head of piracy intelligence. "There are now several million active digital pirates.

"Many of them are ordinary families that have got into the habit of downloading the latest episodes of American TV hits.

"And they don't have any qualms about using file sharing networks to copy new movies without paying."
