The Cabin in the Woods co-writer and director has said that he has been following the superhero since he was a child.
"If we could find the right project, I would love to do it," Goddard told Collider when asked about following collaborator Joss Whedon into superhero movies.
"You're talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his walls growing up... Fox has most of the stuff that was on my walls as a kid!
"Conversations always happen, but until anything's official, who knows? But I'll definitely put it out there that I love all these characters. I'm a Marvel/DC kid."
Goddard said he was a particular fan of Frank Miller's defining run on the title.
Director David Slade recently departed 20th Century Fox's Daredevil project.
The studio still plans to put a movie reboot into production in the autumn, as it otherwise risks losing its control of the Marvel Comics rights.
