'Nerds' remake scrapped

Filming on a Revenge Of The Nerds remake has been halted after production studio Fox opted to scrap the project entirely.
Variety reports that the film was initially put on hold in early November after plans to shoot a large section at a college fell through.
However, rumours are in circulation that the daily rushes from the shoot did not impress Fox Atomic boss Peter Rice, who subsequently pulled the plug.
In a statement, Rice said: "Everybody worked very hard on Revenge of the Nerds, and we're all extremely disappointed that we can't move forward." The film was scheduled to be released next summer.
The original Revenge of the Nerds movie was released in 1984 and spawned three sequels.
