The actor will play a member of the 'Careers', a brutal pack of tributes who train for the deadly competition, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Ritchson has previously appeared in Smallville as Arthur Curry and his alias Aquaman, as well as the Spike TV series Blue Mountain State.
The 27-year-old is only one of a number of cast members who have been added this week. On Wednesday (August 8), producers announced Bruno Gunn would be playing Brutus, while on Tuesday (August 7), Meta Golding joined the film as Enobaria.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Amanda Plummer and Patrick St Esprit will also have roles in the upcoming film, which is the second adaptation based on Suzanne Collins's series of novels.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released on November 22, 2013.
