Sylvester Stallone: 'The Expendables 2 stuntman death was very hard'

Sylvester Stallone has admitted that he is still deeply saddened by the death of an Expendables 2 stuntman.

Kun Lieu was killed and another stuntman was injured while shooting an Expendables 2 action scene when a planned explosion went awry.

Stallone addressed the tragedy at the London premiere for The Expendables 2, admitting that it was "very hard" to deal with Lieu's death.

"The stunt team took it very, very hard and shut down for quite a while. It's happened twice before on films I've been on and it's never easy," Stallone said, according to WENN.

Lieu's family is currently suing Expendables 2 producers for $25 million (£15.9m). They claim that negligence led to the wrongful death of the stuntman.

The Expendables 2 - which also stars Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and Liam Hemsworth - is due for release on August 17 in the US and on August 16 in the UK.
