The book, which has been adapted by Edge of Darkness scribe Andrew Bovell, centres on an ex-prisoner from Chechnya who is smuggled illegally into Hamburg and becomes caught up in the international war on terror.
Meanwhile, his idealistic young lawyer struggles to save him from deportation.
