The drama, which was at one stage set to move forward with Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon at the helm and Logan Lerman starring, has been in development for seven years.

Webb directed Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in this year's Spider-Man reboot, and although at one stage he seemed unlikely to direct the film's sequel, it was recently reported that his contract may be altered to allow him to return.
