Steven Spielberg is considering filming his latest project Robopocalypse with IMAX cameras.

The acclaimed filmmaker confirmed that he has IMAX test shoots scheduled in both 2D and 3D, but is yet to decide whether to use the technology for the Daniel H. Wilson adaptation.

"I'm going to do an IMAX camera test, [both] a 2 and 3D test for my next movie Robopocalypse, and I haven't decided whether I'm going to use the IMAX cameras," he told Yahoo.

"I haven't decided whether it's going to be 2D or 3D yet, but I am in September going to start doing some tests."

Cabin in the Woods helmer Drew Goddard penned the script for Robopocalypse based on the novel by Wilson. Spielberg has expressed interest in casting Chris Hemsworth in the project.

Robopocalypse is slated for release on April 25, 2014.
