The Dutch filmmaker told Hustler magazine that his production office has been sent threatening letters and he has also been abused through Facebook.

"People will write things like, 'If you can make films like The Human Centipede I and II, then you must be insane... a threat to humanity'," he said.
"Some say that I'm worse than Hitler and should be killed. Others go so far as to say that they want to cut me open with glass or shoot me through the head... They're threatening me because they just can't handle the films."

"I'm the total opposite of what I put on the screen," he explained. "I'm afraid of blood. I'm afraid of s**t. I'm a pretty clean person. I couldn't hurt a mouse."
The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) was banned in the UK for its extreme content. Two minutes and 37 seconds had to be cut from Six's film in order to obtain an 18 certificate.
