Marc Webb's superhero origin story passed the $700 million (£442m) mark worldwide following its release in China, Box Office Mojo reports.
The film raked in $5.46m on its opening day in the Asian territory, and now stands at $704.8m globally, taking it ahead of fellow reboots Casino Royale, Batman Begins and Star Trek.
Columbia Pictures previously announced that the film will be followed by two sequels, but it is yet to be officially confirmed whether Webb will return to the director's chair.
Lead cast members Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are expected to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy for the future instalments.
The Amazing Spider-Man is expected to reach the $760m mark before its global theatrical run concludes.
