'On the Road': Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley on the move in new trailer

A new On the Road trailer has debuted.

The fast-moving trailer shows the cast on the move by foot and car in a variety of settings.



The Walter Salles-directed movie stars Sam Riley as protagonist Sal Paradise, Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty and Kristen Stewart as Marylou.

The classic beat generation novel is based on Kerouac's own life and featured many thinly-veiled analogues of his peers including William S Burroughs, Joan Vollmer, Lucien Carr, Neal Cassady and Allen Ginsberg.

Kirsten Dunst, Tom Sturridge, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams and Steve Buscemi also appear in the movie.

Stewart pulled out of the London premiere of the film last month.

On the Road will debut on October 12 in the UK and on December 21 in the US.
