The actress stars opposite Henry Cavill in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the Superman series, and suggested that her incarnation of Clark Kent's plucky love interest will be different from previous takes on the character.
"I think she is a little more… we will have to see," Adams told Collider, when asked if her Lois would be a humorous interpretation. "I don't know. I mean, she is definitely a pistol still and she definitely gets herself in a lot of trouble still.
"But she is not as competitive, I would say, with Clark."
She went on to praise Cavill's performance as Clark Kent/Superman, saying: "He worked so hard. He's just yummy and really committed to the role. He really did a good job."
Michael Shannon also stars as General Zod in Snyder's reboot, and recently described the film as "mind-blowing", while Laurence Fishburne, Richard Schiff, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane round out the cast.
Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are among the film's producers, while David S Goyer (who co-wrote all three of Nolan's Batman films) wrote the screenplay.
Cavill recently spoke about his desire to do the role justice.
