F Scott Frazier will write a screenplay for the proposed adaptation, while Chronicles of Narnia producer Mark Johnson will oversee the project's development, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
4A's Metro 2033 is a first-person shooter with survival-horror elements, released for PC and Xbox 360 in 2010. A sequel titled Metro: Last Light is in development for release early next year.
Metro: Last Light is not based on Glukhovsky's sequel book Metro 2034, but the author has been working with the developers as a creative advisor.
The Metro 2033 movie adaptation is yet to be given a potential release date.
