The South Korean director has signed up for 1984 Private Defence Contractors and Ruby Films' period drama, reports Variety.
Based on a true story, the film centres around two Corsican friends, Marco and Sauveur.
The former joins the Mafia, while the latter chooses a quiet life with his lover. But when the mob kills Sauveur's brother, he is set on a path which will bring him up against his one-time friend.
The 2009 Black List script was written by Skyfall's Neil Purvis and Robert Wade.
Park recently completed production on his English-language debut Stoker, which will premiere on March 1, 2013.
