Mel Gibson falls 17 storeys for respect
Director Mel Gibson has admitted to plunging seventeen storeys so that he didn't lose the respect of his film crew.

His latest movie, Apocalypto, is a period thriller about a young Mayan man fleeing from plans to make him a human sacrifice. As part of his escape, the man, played by Rudy Youngblood, has to jump from a waterfall.

According to Megastar, Gibson said: "I came in that morning and I'm like 'I'm glad I'm not doing that; that is a long way up.' I was giving Rudy grief. I'm going, 'You girly man! You nancy boy!' and all this kind of stuff...He was hauled up and his knees were knocking together. But he did it.

"Then at the end of it, they said 'How about you? You wanna jump? I'm like 'I have to. Okay hook me up, or no one will ever respect me."
