Rodriguez and Miller are returning as co-directors on the sequel, with actors Rosario Dawson and Michael Madsen in line to reprise their roles.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is scheduled to debut in US cinemas on October 4, 2013. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
Shooting on the film is due to begin in November.
