'Madagascar 3' tops Australian box office: Top ten in full

'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted'
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted has held its position at the top of the Australian box office chart.

The animated family film spends a third week at the top of the standings, fending off Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's time-travel action movie Looper - a new entry in second place.

Madagascar 3 has now taken over AU$7.5 million in box office receipts.

Other new entries this week include financial thriller Arbitrage, which stars Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon, and Toni Collette's comedy Mental.

The box office top ten for the weekend of September 27 to September 30 (all figures in Australian dollars):

3. (2) Hotel Transylvania - $2,077,259
4. (4) Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Dog Days - $1,516,534
