Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer in new 'Lone Ranger' pictures

By
Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp feature in a new set of stills from The Lone Ranger.

Depp reunites with his Pirates of the Caribbean and Rango director Gore Verbinski on the action adventure film, which is an adaptation of the 1950s television series.
Released by USA Today, the images show Hammer in the title role of lawman John Reid, with Depp co-starring as spirit warrior Tonto.

The film has allegedly suffered a troubled production, with one report stating that it had exceeded its budget, having already been delayed once because of budgetary concerns.

It was reported last month that a crew member had drowned on the film's Los Angeles set.

William Fichtner, Helena Bonham Carter, James Badge Dale, Tom Wilkinson, Ruth Wilson, Barry Pepper and James Frain round out the supporting cast of the 1869-set film.

A full trailer for the film will be released later this week.

The Lone Ranger is set for release on July 3 in the US, and August 9 in the UK.
