The image published by Entertainment Weekly shows the Harry Potter star as Ig Perrish, a man who mysteriously grows horns from his head.
"It's a very, very different type of part than anything I've done before," said Radcliffe. "To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character - it was very, very exciting."
Based on Joe Hill's novel, the film sees Perrish set out to solve the mystery of his girlfriend's brutal death, which is apparently somehow linked to the appearance of his new appendages.
Radcliffe said that the role was "deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways".
Hills's Locke & Key series was recently named 'Best Comic/Graphic Novel' at the 2012 British Fantasy Awards.
Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and James Remar will also star in the Alexandre Aja-directed Horns.
