The Battlestar Galactica star will join former MMA fighter Gina Carano in the untitled project penned by Dutch Southern, reports Variety.

The upcoming action film is being described as the female version of The Expendables, which featured several well-known action male stars such as Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
A sequel to The Expendables was released in August.
Earlier this year, Carano starred in an action film as a Black Ops soldier hunting down those who betrayed her during a mission.
Sackhoff is starring opposite Vin Diesel in the sequel to Chronicles of Riddick, scheduled for a 2013 release.
