Michael Caine has been cast in the remake of the film Sleuth, the original of which he starred.

The film, to be directed by Kenneth Branagh, will see Caine adopt the role played by Laurence Olivier in the original, whilst Caine's former role will be taken by Jude Law.

Law will also co-produce the film with Branagh, which is set to begin production work at the end of this month.

The film is adapted by Harold Pinter, from the original play by Anthony Shaffer.
