British names due for Oscar noms?

An array of British film-makers are in the running to pick up Oscar nominations.
Homegrown stars are in with a good shot when this year's contenders are announced on Tuesday, as are a line-up of producers and other off-camera Brits.
In the first category come Helen Mirren - recently recognised at the Golden Globes - and Emily Blunt and Judi Dench. Among the lesser-knowns are producer Christine Langan, a producer for The Queen and Pierrepoint, David Arnold, who wrote the score for Casino Royale, and Jodie Whittaker, star of Venus.
Langan, whose first big success was on ITV drama Cold Feet, said the chances were good for UK talent. "There was a feeling at the Globes that being British was a very good thing," she explained. "There are always cyclical renaissances in British film and that they are often pinned on too few films, but to me it seems things are picking up."
Arnold, also impressed with his home country's offerings this year, added: "All four films I have done this year have been British, and they have all been different and fantastic."
