DreamWorks ends Aardman collaboration

'Flushed Away'

DreamWorks and Aardman Animation have parted company, after a five-year collaboration.

Their projects have included Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and last year's release Flushed Away.

DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg released a statement, saying: "Today, DreamWorks Animation is focused on producing two computer animated movies per year, with a full film slate laid out into 2010. While I will always be a fan and an admirer of Aardman's work, our different business goals no longer support each other."

Aardman co-owners Peter Lord and David Sproxton admitted that the companies interests are now more disparate: "Both companies are aware that our ambitions have moved apart," they commented in an official statement.
