The Social Network actor is reportedly a top choice to play Batman in the Warner Bros and DC Entertainment film, according to Moviehole.
Hammer was previously attached to play Batman in the cancelled Justice League project from director George Miller.
He is allegedly "back on WB's radar" following his rise in Hollywood in recent years, a studio source stated.
The insider added that the "Batman in this movie might only be used in Justice League movies", meaning that Hammer's turn as Batman would only be restricted to the Justice League universe rather than a future solo movie.
The Justice League project will see the characters of Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter teaming up.
The film has been targeted for a 2015 release from Warner Bros and DC Entertainment.
Armie Hammer will soon be seen in the lead role in The Lone Ranger alongside Johnny Depp, which will be released on July 3, 2013 in the US, and August 9, 2013 in the UK. Watch the trailer below:
