Marvel, Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' gets November 6, 2015 release date

Marvel and Disney have handed a November 6, 2015 release date to Edgar Wright's superhero movie Ant-Man.

Wright and Attack the Block writer/director Joe Cornish have been working on the script for the comic book adaptation since before the helmer's 2010 movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

Wright debuted test footage from his Ant-Man film at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

The director also confirmed that Ant-Man, one of the founding members of The Avengers in Marvel Comics, would be part of the studio's second phase of movie releases.

It is unclear if Ant-Man will be the character's first big-screen appearance, or if he will appear in The Avengers 2, due for release on May 1, 2015.

Wright released a teaser image from Ant-Man in June.
