The film will centre around a man who can enter people's minds and explore their memories.
He is hired for a case in which he must determine whether a troubled young girl is a trauma victim or a sociopath guilty of a terrible crime.
Unknown director Collet-Serra is backing the film, which will be directed by Jorge Dorado.
Strong will next appear in Zero Dark Thirty and Closer to the Moon. Farmiga will be seen in The Bling Ring and Cox in Theatre of Dreams.
Shooting on Mindscape will begin in France next week.
