Nicole Kidman spent Oscars evening in pain because of fractured ribs.

The Australian actress is still suffering from injuries caused by her recent car accident during the filming of a stunt scene for forthcoming movie The Invasion.

However, she battled through the pain to attend yesterday's ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles in a bright red, floor length Balenciaga gown with an oversized bow at the neck.

She told Access Hollywood: "We didn't know how I was doing at first. My ribs could have been fractured or not, but I feel it now."
