Naomie Harris on 'Skyfall' character: 'She wants to be a female Bond'

Naomie Harris has discussed her role in Skyfall.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress plays James Bond's (Daniel Craig) fellow MI6 field agent Eve, a character she described as "independent, intelligent and courageous".

"She sees [Bond] as her equal, but also as someone she admires because he is the ultimate field agent," Harris told Flicks and Bits.

"Eve wants to learn from Bond, but she's also kind of showing off in the beginning as well because she wants to be – in the beginning – a female version of Bond.

"She discovers pretty fast that she's not quite as necessarily good as she'd like to think she is!"

Harris went on to discuss Eve's relationship with 007, saying: "She's not afraid to stand her ground with Bond, and I think that makes her so much more interesting.

"Eve and Bond get on really well, they have a great banter and I think there's a mutual respect there."

Skyfall will be released on October 26 in the UK, and November 9 in the US.
