Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Western stars Jamie Foxx as slave-turned-bounty-hunter Django, who sets out to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from a vicious plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio) who has enslaved her.
The trailer focuses on the relationship between Django and Christoph Waltz's Dr King Schultz, a German dentist-turned-bounty-hunter who joins him on his mission.
Foxx and Washington discussed their roles in the film earlier this year, with Washington describing her character Broomhilda as possessing "a different kind of strength... an emotional, spiritual, psychological strength".
Foxx admitted that there were "a lot of tough days" on set given the film's subject matter.
"I watched Quentin, who is super-director, and he was crying and that was probably the most challenging time, but a testament to Quentin Tarantino and his ability to understand the situation," he said.
