The Hangover star is in negotiations to play the lead in the film opposite Emma Stone, according to Deadline.

The untitled project has been written by Crowe, and will go into production next spring for Sony Pictures.
While no plot details have been revealed, it will apparently be similar in tone to Crowe's award-winning movies Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous.
Cooper is currently filming the third instalment of the Hangover franchise in Los Angeles.
He will next be seen in Silver Linings Playbook with Jennifer Lawrence.
