Danny Boyle, the British director of Trainspotting, has revealed his next film project.
He will make a movie version of Ponte City, a book by German writer Norman Ohler about an infamous skyscraper block in Johannesburg, South Africa, reports Reuters.
The building was at one time an expensive and sought-after place to live but has deteriorated into a haven for gang-land crime. Ohler's book is the story of a young woman who moves in and is befriended by a drugs baron.
Boyle's next release is Sunshine, due in cinemas on April 5. The acclaimed director also made The Beach, another book-based project.
