Eddie Murphy vehicle Norbit has topped the Australian box office charts this week.

The film stars Murphy as a number of characters, ranging from the geeky Norbit to his morbidly obese wife Rasputia, as well as the Asian man who adopts Murphy's character Norbit as a child. It tells the story of the relationship between Norbit and Rasputia, as well as Norbit's long-held passion for childhood crush Kate, who comes back into the picture later in the film

Norbit took AUS$1,42m in its debut weekend, coming in at second place below Rocky Balboa, which this week slipped to third place behind Music & Lyrics. Nicolas Cage film Ghost Rider and new release The Illusionist make up the rest of this week's top five.
