Daniel Craig: 'I've been wanting to quit Bond for years'

Daniel Craig has revealed that he has wanted to quit the role of James Bond for years.

The British actor claims that he was close to getting out of his contract with producers before latest film Skyfall was made.

"I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it," he is quoted as telling Rolling Stone.

"But they won't let me go, and I've agreed to do a couple more, but let's see how this one does, because business is business and if the s**t goes down, I've got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their ass with."

Craig will star in at least two more James Bond films, which he recently denied would be a two-parter.

Skyfall has smashed UK box office records, securing the biggest seven-day gross of all time, and becoming the 13th highest-ever grossing film.

The film will be released in the US on November 9.
