Hugh Jackman: 'Kids will love Rise of the Guardians'

By
Hugh Jackman has predicted that Rise of the Guardians will be a big hit with children.

The animated Rise of the Guardians teams the Easter Bunny (Jackman), Jack Frost (Chris Pine), North (Alec Baldwin) and Tooth (Isla Fisher) to prevent the world from falling into darkness.

In an interview with Flicks and Bits, Jackman compared the DreamWorks film to Marvel's The Avengers.

"Rise of the Guardians is one of the greatest things kids will get to see, getting to see all of their favourite characters come to life in one movie," he quipped.

He continued: "These Guardians all know each other, they work together in looking after kids and guarding over them, making sure that they have a great childhood. [The villainous] Pitch comes in to kind of ruin the party, and that's basically where Rise of the Guardians starts. "

Jackman also praised Rise of the Guardians' voice cast for providing a new spin on classic characters like North, aka Father Christmas, and Tooth, also known as the Tooth Fairy.

"I think what's great about the characters is that they're all incredibly different. I mean, they represent incredibly different things," he explained.

"I think it's exciting for kids to think of all of these beloved characters actually knowing each other and actually working together. I think that's something really unique."

The actor went on to say: "All the actors have brought their incredible individuality to each part. We have many accents, it's like the most international voice cast you've ever heard in an animated movie. You have Alec Baldwin with his huge, deep voice and his big character, giving the film great presence.

"Then Isla Fisher has given it such beautiful humanity, she's very funny and she plays a very fast, manic character. I think Chris Pine is terrific as Jack Frost because he just feels very believable and relatable and human. I tried to throw in as many 'Aussie-isms' as I could."

He concluded: "I tried to make him sound as unique as possible. I think as a group they all sound very different, and it melds together very well."

Rise of Guardians also features Jude Law and Dakota Goyo in its all-star voice cast.

The film opens on November 21 in the US and November 30 in the UK. Watch a trailer for Rise of the Guardians below:
