Rafe Spall: 'Prometheus extras turned marketing into art' - video

By
Rafe Spall has said that the bonus material and pre-release trailers for Prometheus turned a marketing exercise into works of art.

Ridley Scott's movie from the Alien universe was trailed by a series of viral films which did not feature in the finished product, including a video advertisement for Michael Fassbender's David, an android manufactured by Weyland Industries.

"I've only seen a few bits and pieces," Spall told Digital Spy. "I saw the thing that Fassbender did for David, which I just thought was an extraordinary short film unto itself.

"If marketing can be turned into a work of art, then I'm all for that. If the end result of interesting and new forms of marketing end up in other things to watch, then I'm all for it."

The Prometheus DVD and Blu-ray also features several deleted scenes which have sparked debate from fans of the film.
