Quentin Tarantino's 1997 movie Jackie Brown was based on the novel's loose sequel, Rum Punch.

Hawkes and Yasiin Bey will play younger versions of Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie, who were portrayed by Robert De Niro and Samuel L Jackson in the previous adaptation.

The pair are hired to kidnap the wife (Aniston) of a corrupt Detroit real estate developer. When he refuses to pay the ransom, she enlists the men to help her plot her revenge.

Fisher is in line for the role of meddlesome Melanie, who was portrayed by Bridget Fonda in Jackie Brown.

Dennis Quaid was formerly in line for the project, but has had to drop out due to a scheduling clash.

Fisher has leant her voice to the upcoming Rise of the Guardians animation. She will next be seen in The Great Gatsby and Now You See Me.
