The fifth instalment in the found-footage horror series will debut in cinemas on October 15, 2013. The movie's projected release date was first reported last month.
Paranormal Activity follows a family which has been haunted by a demon for many years. The first movie was released in 2009, followed by a prequel in 2010 and Paranormal Activity 3 in 2011.
Paranormal Activity 4 - the most recent entry in the series - topped the US and Australian box office charts when it was released last month,
It has now grossed $135.5 million (£85.1 million) worldwide.
A spinoff movie has been commissioned for release in spring 2013, which a studio source has said "[is] aimed at the groups who have been the biggest supporters of the property - Latinos and folks in Latin America - Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina".
Director Christopher Landon is attached to the project, which will reportedly feature the same demon from the Paranormal Activity series and be partly in Spanish.
