Chris Hemsworth talks bonding with 'Red Dawn' cast

By
Chris Hemsworth has discussed his role in Red Dawn.

The Thor actor stars alongside The Hunger Games's Josh Hutcherson in the long-delayed action thriller, which is a remake of the 1984 film of the same name.

'Red Dawn' still

"For me it was a story about brothers and friends and family," Hemsworth told Flicks and Bits. "I've got two brothers, so having that in my life, it was something I could draw from for the film, that brotherly experience."

Hemsworth went on to describe the bonding experience he underwent with fellow cast members Hutcherson, Josh Peck, Brett Cullen, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who all attended boot camp together in preparation.

"Watching what happened at boot camp when everyone came together was fantastic because we were supposed to have been friends for a long time in the film, so the time we spent together was helpful in building that intimacy."

Long-time stunt coordinator Dan Bradley makes his directorial debut with Red Dawn, which chronicles the dawn of World War III in the American Midwest, where a group of teenagers band together to defend their town.
