Emily Blunt is to play Queen Victoria in a new film about the long-serving monarch.
The Golden Globe-winning actress, who recently appeared in The Devil Wears Prada, is to star in The Young Victoria, a movie about the nineteenth century monarch's early life.
The film's script will be written by Julian Fellowes, who won an Oscar for his work on 2001's Gosford Park, and it will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, who helmed last year's C.R.A.Z.Y.
The Young Victoria promises to explore "the turbulent early years of Queen Victoria's rule, and her romance with Prince Albert."
