The drama secured the top prize for honours at the awards ceremony in Berlin.
It took the 'Best Film' award, with Haneke receiving the 'Best Director' honour and stars Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva topping the 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress' categories.
Amour tells the tale of two retired Parisian music teachers whose relationship is put to the test when the wife suffers several strokes.
The film secured Haneke the Palme d'Or in May, the second time he has received the honour. He won the award for The White Ribbon in 2009.
Amour is Austria's selection for the Foreign Language category at the Oscars.
