Disney has lined up another original sci-fi project, Terra Incognita.

Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman is attached to work on the script for the film, reports Variety.

Justin Springer (Tron: Legacy, Prom) will produce the project.

No details are known about the project as of yet, but 'terra incognita' is Latin for 'unknown land'.

Perlman is a graduate of Disney's writers' programme, and is working with Chris McCoy on the script for Disney subsidiary Marvel Studios' 2014 cosmic adventure Guardians of the Galaxy.

She previously wrote the yet-to-be-produced, space-themed screenplays Challenger, First Man and Capture the Flag.

Other Disney sci-fi projects in the works include Max Landis's unnamed space adventure and Brad Bird's 1952.
