20th Century Fox is said to be hopeful that the duo will reprise their respective roles of Storm and Cyclops for the X-Men: First Class sequel, MovieWeb understands.
The news follows reports that Hugh Jackman has entered discussions to revisit his role of Wolverine for the film, and confirmation that Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart will play the older incarnations of Magneto and Professor Xavier.
It was been speculated that the actors from the original trilogy will appear in scenes depicting an alternate, dystopian future.
Bryan Singer will return to the director's chair after serving as producer on X-Men: First Class, while actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are also on board.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is to hit cinemas in 2014, with production expected to begin early next year.
