Jennifer Lawrence joked that she wishes she could share her People's Choice Award when she picked it up at last night's ceremony.

The Hunger Games star - who was nominated for an Oscar today for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook - was honoured with the 'Favourite Movie Actress' gong.

"Oh my God, I'm sweating so much I'm going to drop it," Lawrence quipped as she took to the stage, before telling herself to "focus".

"Thank you so much," she said. "Thank you fans, thank you. I wish this was like Mean Girls and I could just break this up and throw it at all of you, because you're all responsible."

Lawrence added: "Thank you for loving movies as much as I do and just accepting this movie and for voting."

The Hunger Games dominated the People's Choice Awards, picking up a title of five gongs at the ceremony, including the 'Favourite Movie' honour.

The movie's star Josh Hutcherson paid tribute to the franchise's fans at the event, saying: "You guys are incredible and this is 100% for you."

The second movie in the Hunger Games franchise, Catching Fire, is due to be released in November and several images from the film have recently been released.
