While the 'Best Supporting Actor' category was filled with Oscars veterans (all have won a gong before), the Academy could yet give a newbie some love with the 'Best Actor' prize.
Denzel Washington and Daniel Day-Lewis are past winners and Joaquin Phoenix got a nod for Walk The Line in 2005, but Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper are first timers in the category.
